KATA Canada is pleased to announce that the Board has approved the appointment of Madison Nobbs to the role of Executive Director of KATA Canada. Congratulations! She has been with the organization since its inception in 2019 and has participated on multiple working groups. We are looking forward to working together with you to advance the mandate and mission of KATA Canada.
Madison Nobbs is a Registered Nurse who graduated with a BScN from the University of Alberta in 2012. She started her career in the emergency department at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton. In Vancouver she continued practicing locally and in dozens of rural and remote ER locations.
In 2017 she joined the infusion therapy team at CHANGEpain where she provides care to patients receiving ketamine for chronic pain and depression as a part of an interdisciplinary team. She also has experience in palliative care, and post-anesthetic recovery. Through her experiences with chronic pain patients receiving ketamine she learned of the unique and interesting neurological and dissociative effects that it has. Some of her patients exhibited significant positive changes to their mood which spurred an interest to learn more about therapeutic uses of ketamine for mental health conditions. KATA’s mission to improve safe access to ketamine assisted therapy aligns well with Madison – as helping people improve their quality of life is at heart of her endeavours.
